Tapentadol 100mg. Tapentadol Tablet is a pain relaxer. It is mostly used to treat moderate to severe pain, it is used to treat headaches, muscle spasms, menstrual pain, chronic stiffness(cramp ), and spine, dental, and throat discomfort in adults. This medication works by changing how the brain and nerves react to pain.

What is Tapentadol?

Tapentadol is a prescription medicine that is used to treat moderate to severe pain.

Tapentadol extended-release form (Nucynta ER) is for around-the-clock treatment of pain that is not controlled by other medicines. The extended-release form of tapentadol is not for use on an as-needed basis for pain. 

It is an under narcotic.

How to use Tapentadol oral

Read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you start taking Tapentadol and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor. You may take this drug with or without food. If you have nausea, it may help to take this drug with food. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about other ways to decrease nausea (such as lying down for 1 to 2 hours with as little head movement as possible).

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Properly stop the medication when so directed.

Pain mediations work best if they are used as the first signs of pain occur. If you wait until the pain has worsened, the medication may not work as well.

Is Tapentadol an addictions :

Tapentadol is a strong painkiller which is used in the treatment of moderate to severe pain when other treatments do not treat your pain well enough or you cannot tolerate them. The addiction / habit-forming potential of Tapentadol is very high. Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Tapentadol can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
• While taking this medication, avoid alcohol in all forms including beer, wine, aftershave lotions, mouthwash, vinegar, certain desserts, colognes, and liquid medications.
• Inform your doctor if you have asthma, liver, kidney or pancreatic disease, or are severely constipated.

Side Effects 

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

To prevent constipation, eat dietary fiber , drink enough water, and exercise. You may also need to take a laxative. Ask your pharmacist which type of laxative is right for you.

Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: confusion, interrupted breathing during sleep (sleep apnea ), stomach/abdominal pain, difficulty urinating, signs of your adrenal glands not working well (such as loss of appetite, unusual tiredness, weight loss).

Get medical help right away if you have any serious side effects, including: slow/shallow breathing, fainting ,seizures, severe drowsiness/difficulty waking up.

Does Tapentadol work immediately?

Immediate release (IR) Tapentadol shows its analgesic effect quickly, at around 30 minutes. Its MOR agonistic action produces acute nociceptive pain relief; its role as an NRI brings about chronic neuropathic pain relief. Absorption is rapid, with a mean maximal serum concentration at 1.25-1.5 h after oral intake.
